Deputy Inspector General of Prisons (South Zone) is the controlling officer of all Jail Institutions in Thiruvananathapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts. He is also the Director of SICA, Thiruvananthapuram, which has two regional extension centers at Viyyur and Kannur. His headquarters is at Poojappura in Thiruvananthapuram.
