The Right to Information Act 2005 has been fully implemented in the Department. The Deputy Inspector General of Prisons (Headquarters) is the State Appellant Authority. State Public Information Officer and State Assistant Public Information Officers are also been constituted.
In order to provide the information to the public expeditiously as provided in the law and to avoid unnecessary delay to provide information to the applicants, State Public Information Officers and State Assistant Public Information Officers in all Offices under the Prisons Department are noted below:
